VacationRental.org sells for $60,300
VacationRental.org sold today on Flippa for $60,300. This was a website sale and not just
a straight domain sale.
The site was established September 1998 and is a PR 4.
Financial details from the listing:
VacationRental.org has generated approximately $50K/year in profits over the past 3 years. The attached figures pertain only to Authorize.net profits and does not include other forms of payment we have received via 2CheckOut, PayPal and Checks. I would estimate that it would be approximately $5K-$10K received via these alternative payment methods. Also, adsense generates approximately $5K/year.
Traffic details:
Monthly
Visits: 5,755
Unique Visitors: 4,589
Pageviews: 10,043

Returning Visitors: 22.94%
Interesting seller comment:
This auction has reached the minimum reserve which I have lowered from
$100K to $60K (way below the cost of building this site over the past 14
years!).
Best wishes for these final hours of bidding!

Why would someone sell a site for 60k when they are making 50k a year?
Something sounds off.

Makes 50k and sold for 60k which actually leaves the private owner with less than $50k after taking out all fees and charges involved.
And with a name like Vacation Rental instead of "rentals".
That is self domain name hijacking at its best.
