HairExtensions.co.uk sold for 30,000 pounds

 Seaham-based Harland Corporation revealed the purchase price in an article by neinvesting.co.uk.

The company has just revamped its main www.hairextensions.co.uk  website after buying the domain name last year for £30,000.

Williams said: “Paying £30,000 for a domain name may sound high risk, especially when the original cost can be as little as £8. But, considering some of the major .com domains sell for millions of pounds, we felt the money was well spent. We doubled our investment in the first few months alone.

If the domain sale had been reported in 2010, it would have been #62 on the DN Journal yearly cc tld list.

What is G.co.uk worth ? Not as much as G.co at least not for Google

The Financial times did an article on the auction of single letter .co.uk names.  The most heated auction was for G.co.uk according to the story.

"But in the highest-priced auction, Google was outbid for the rights to g.co.uk by Any-Web, a company which collects, builds and resells domain names and is believed to be the auction’s biggest spender."

So Google supposedly paid 7 figures for G.co and got outbid by a far smaller company for G.co.uk ?

Guess the .co supporters will cheer for that.
