Forbes: "Time Is Running Out For SOPA Opponents Congressmen Warn At CES 2012"

Forbes posted an article that quotes two congressman Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.). They spoke at CES in Las Vegas.

“This is a crucial window here for those who want to see the Net come out of this debate without this enormous collateral damage” caused by the Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect IP Act, Wyden told conference-goers. “We are not prepared to say that this juggernaut for innovation and freedom and citizen empowerment, the Internet, ought to be dealt such a serious body blow in the name of copyright.”

OKyoutube.com sells for $1495, Does anyone really care about Trademarks

OKyoutube.com sells for $1495 on Go Daddy.   Go Daddy  estimated traffic at 25,160 monthly hits.  Go Daddy likes to give their own valuations for names on their auction platform. They put a value of $2619. The domain was regged two years ago.

So the first question is, Why would someone spend that much money on an obvious TM ?

The second question, Why should Go Daddy make $1495 on a clear tm violation ?

Apple wants to trademark "App Store" Microsoft does not agree.

Techcrunch is reporting on the tm application for App Store.  Apparently Apple believes its not a generic term but Microsoft disagrees.  Interesting position for Microsoft who has a famous tm for a generic word. Is App Store any different than Windows ?
