Cloud.us leads the way at Go Daddy for Memorial Day

First to all US readers out there a safe and happy Memorial Day. More importantly to those in the military and veterans of the military thank you for all you do and have done to protect this country.

Its not every day that .us is the headliner on Go Daddy Auctions, but some really good ones are having their auctions end today. Not only words like cloud, review and toy, but there are some good LLL.us at auction today.

You got to move fast in this game even at 4 am

I was up checking stuff on Godaddy and went to Godaddy auctions.  Checking on the closeouts a name popped up that was somewhat interesting.

CustomKeychains.us. Godaddy said the name has 204 hits per month, regged for eight years and they placed their value at $111 and the name was for sale for $11.

I went to the Google keyword tool and checked out the stats, 1900 exact searches in the US not bad, not great but not bad. The CPC was $3.90 though, pretty good. Doing a search on Google showed a lot of advertisers for the keyword.

So I sit and think for a minute and then figure what the heck and the name was taken.  I thought its 4 am eastern and a .us so probably ok to wait a minute, but someone got the name.  Best of luck to them and I hope they make some money.

.US shut out from top 100 cctld reported sales list.

When looking at the final 2010 list on DN Journal, there were 0 .us sales in the top 100 cctld list. In contrast there were 12 .co, 6.tv and 3.me. Even 1 .io and 1 .to made the top 100.

I am not hating on .us, I like .us and cannot understand why the poor performance from a pure sales point.  There needs to be better marketing of this extension, or .us is just going to be at the bottom of the barrel for cctld sales.
